In partnership with the Twinsburg City School District, 2 full-time police officers are assigned as District School Resource Officers (SROs). One officer is stationed out of Twinsburg High School, and the other is stationed out of R.B. Chamberlin Middle School; however, both officers provide law enforcement services to all 5 school buildings in the district. While not school officials, SROs are a valuable and active part of the school community.
The SROs are supervised by the detective sergeant and the principle for the building to which the officer is assigned. In addition to standard law enforcement training, the SROs are specially trained in, but not limited to, school security techniques, juvenile issues, and substance abuse identification. The SROs provide ALICE training to students, staff, and faculty, as well as the basic DARE program to the 6th grade.
