INTRODUCTION

At approximately 4:15pm on the afternoon of June 22, 2006, a severe weather event besieged the City of Twinsburg and surrounding areas. In short time, many of the roads in low lying areas began to fill with water. Off duty emergency personnel were called back to work and Fire Chief Rick Racine activated the City’s Emergency Operation Center. Activation of the EOC brought together the Mayor and key personnel to oversee and gain control over this large scale emergency.
Impassible streets were barricaded and an evacuation center was established along with standby transportation. Fortunately, the heavy rain conditions abated by 7:00pm and the evacuations were not required. At 7:45pm EOC operations were terminated.

Since this storm the City has launched a determined effort to address future storm water management concerns in Twinsburg. Along with numerous meetings with citizens, the City Administration has established this website to help address your flooding concerns.
