The Twinsburg Police Department will be hosting a seminar for dispatchers on Protecting Law Enforcement Responders, September 8, 2010 from 8:30am-4:30pm. The topics to be covered include: felonious line of duty deaths, high risk crimes and incidents in progress, extremist and street gangs, dispatcher tactics to protect officers, officer safety in motor vehicle stops and domestic violence calls, barricaded suspects and active shooters, radio procedures and etiquette, critical incident stress debriefing, identity potential “suicide by cop” scenarios, and provide pre-arrival survival instructions for officers. September 16-17, 2010 8am-4pm. Cost of this class is $295.00 The Twinsburg Police Department will be hosting a 2 day seminar on Law Enforcement Media Training on September 16-17, 2010 from 8am-4pm. After this seminar the participant will come away with skills to maintain control of news conferences and interviews, turn negative press into positive press, hold a news briefing without revealing sensitive information, and recognize keys words and which phrases to avoid and which to use. Leadership and Mastering Performance Management

October 18-22, 2010 from 8am to 4pm. This class is FULL This class will be held at the Twinsburg Recreation center, 10260 Ravenna Rd, Twinsburg This course is a high energy forty hour course focusing on the first line supervisor and mid-manager. It introduces the leadership test and the six layers of success as tools that will improve the skills and abilities of supervisors and managers to both manage and lead. There is an emphasis on defining the difference between leadership and management, and identifying their separate skill sets. Tools are provided that will assist students to work more effectively as developers with their employees, both as individuals and as a team. Save Our Own

Date of Class - November 09, 2010 The Twinsburg Police Department will be hosting two four – hour seminars entitled, “Save Our Own – Tactical Medicine for the Street” The first seminar will be from 8am to 12pm and the second will be from Officers will have the opportunity to participate in simulated scenarios where they can master the skills of bleeding control and officer extraction and rescue. Departments will be given the opportunity to purchase Care Under Fire (CUF) Kits to deploy in the field. Cost for the class is $275 with the purchase of the CUF Kit.
