Crimes in Progress such as:

  • Robbery / Burglary / Hold Ups
  • Crimes Involving Weapons
  • Violent Crimes

Fire Emergencies

All other law enforcement, fire and medical related calls should be directed to your local public safety departments 10 digit phone number.

Know your wireless / cellular telephone features:

  • Know the wireless / cellular telephone number you are calling from
  • Know your keypad
    • Lock Feature
    • Auto Dial Feature
  • Utilize memory features to program public safety department phone numbers.
  • Maintain awareness of your surroundings so you are able to give authorities an accurate description.

Know your location:

  • Community / County you are calling from
  • Mile marker numbers
  • Street Names / Addresses / Intersections
  • Landmarks

Be prepared to report:

  • Exact location of the emergency
  • Type of emergency
  • Your name
  • Telephone Number you are calling from
  • Stay Calm and never hang up until instructed to do so.
  • Be prepared to answer additional questions.
  • Listen for further instructions.

When calling from a location (such as your home or office) always use the telephone installed for the premise and not a wireless / cellular telephone.
