Salamander and Frog Fest

Our annual celebration of the return of salamanders and frogs to the Twinsburg wetlands is a child-pleaser.  For older folks, who are crayon-challenged, we supply educational videos about these creatures and more.  There will be crafts and a coloring contest for the younger ones.   The event is FREE and open to the public.


Day Camp Registration

begins Saturday, March 24 at 8 am
at the Community Center or online at www.twinsburgrecreation.com.

PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
FOCUS 2012     APRIL 13
CALLING ALL PHTOGRAPHERS

Register for FOCUS 2011 and become a part of an exciting partnership of several communities. Residents, non residents (amateurs only) in the adult and junior classification are eligible. The competition is juried with categories and awards for each. The Opening Exhibition Celebration will be held on April 8 at Solon Recreation Center. Stop by the Community Center or the Twinsburg Fitness Center to pick up an entry form and informational material.

 


Adult Egg Hunt

Friday, March 30 8pm

Adults, 21 and over, are invited to participate in this event. The hunt requires individuals to search for plastic eggs, at night, in the woods, using flashlights. Eggs will correspond to prizes and special golden eggs will contain bigger prizes. Drinks will be available for additional purchase. Bring your flashlights and baskets. Cost is $12 per person.
THIS EVENT WILL SELL OUT. Registration: March 12, 8:30am at the Community Center. (no online registration)
Maximum 4 tickets per person.

 


Something for Everyone on April 7

BREAKFAST WITH THE EASTER BUNNY      
Saturday, April 7, 8:30 am

Bring your family and join the Easter Bunny for a great breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, buscuit and drink.
  Cost is $5 for those over the age of 6. Non residents may register beginning March 26 at the cost of $10 for those over the age of 6.

BOGSUCKER STRUT 5K
Saturday, April 7, 10 am

This 5K race will begin and end at the Twinsburg Fitness Center. Pre-registration is $15, for those 14 years and up. 
Race Day cost is $20. Race day registration begins at 8 am. Only pre-registered runners will be guaranteed an event t-shirt. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive trophies.

CANDY SCRAMBLE
Saturday, April 7

The Easter Bunny will greet the children and be available for pictures at the 21st annual Candy Scramble. Get your children a big basket and make your way over to the Fitness Center. Please have your children lined up 15 minutes in advance of your scheduled time. We will start on time!   Ages 2-4 years=11:30am     Ages 5-8 years=11:45am
 

WET EGG HUNT
Saturday, April 7, Noon at the TFC pool

Children ages 9-12 years old will have to put on their swim suits to gather their Easter eggs. This event will involve children collecting plastic eggs that are scattered throughout the pool. Make sure that you are ready to go by
11:50 am. Eggs will be in the shallow and deep water so that all swimming abilities are accomodated. Parents please stay out of the water. FREE.

Arts For All Festival

March 10, 1-4 pm at the Community Center

Experience the expression! Art knows no boundaries at our annual Arts for All special needs art festival. This event is sponsored by Twinsburg Parks and Recreation, Twinsburg, Nordonia Hills and Hudson Parent Mentor groups, and Summit County Board of DD. This free festival highlights the work of those who overcome disability challenges to create art, and those who encourage us to look beyond disabilities and adapt our way of thinking. This festival includes: crafts, music making, dancing, theater, art and much more.



Sports and Fitness Expo

Saturday, June 2, 1-5 pm

Listen to guest speakers, visit health and wellness booths and take part in health screenings. Area businesses will be available to offer a sample of how they can help you lead a healthier lifestyle. Take the opportunity to see what a great Fitness Center this city offers residents and business partners. 3rd Annual Twinsburg Duathlon

June 3, 7:30 am at the Twinsburg Fitness Center.

This USA Triathlon Sanctioned event will consist of a 2 mile run/10 mile bike/2 mile run all within the Twinsburg city limits.
