The Twinsburg Police Department has created a "Twitter" account to help alert citizens of any emergency within the city such as road closures, power outages, or any incident where we feel the public may need to be alerted.

Anyone interested in receiving messages from the Twinsburg Police Department must create a twitter account of their own by going to www.twitter.com. After you create your account, please go to www.twitter.com/twinsburgpolice select "follow" on the Twinsburg Police page.

Vehicle Lockouts
The Twinsburg Police Department will assist with lockouts only for emergency situations. Emergencies will be defined as a vehicle running in an attached garage, or children / animals locked inside the car.

Due to the fact that newer cars have safety features built into the doors, such as side impact air bags, the possibility of damaging the airbag system is too great. This could either cause an accidental deployment of the airbag system or even worse have it fail in a side impact crash.

Changes to Parking Permission
City Ordinance 351.12 "Prohibition against parking on streets or highways". In the past the police department has given permission for residents to park vehicles on the street for special events that may cause an overflow of vehicles from the driveway onto the street.
The following changes are effective immediately:
Parking permission will not be granted more than two times per month to a single address. Any resident requesting additional occurrences of parking permission must make the request in writing to the Chief of Police detailing the reason and the need for the additional occurrence(s) of parking permission prior to the needed date and time. The Chief will determine if parking permission will be granted and will respond in writing to the request.

Information on Address Markings
Section 907.01 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Twinsburg states, "All permanent buildings in and upon the streets and shopping center driveways and parking areas within the City shall be numbered. The numbers shall be placed on the building, mailbox, and along curbside. These numbers shall contrast with their background. Numbers shall be between 3 inches to 4 inches in height with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch". These numbers assist the public safety forces in locating buildings and residences quickly.
