University Swim Club

Twinsburg Tiger Sharks has formed a new partnership with Unversity Swim Club (USC)! Our mission is to teach the love of swimming and the discipline and hard work that cmoes with it. Athletes who truly love what they are doing can achieve beyond expections. Success is realized when coaches, swimmers and parents think and act together for the good of the team and our mutual love for the sport of swimming. All registrations will be done online at www.unversityswimclub.org.

Beginner to Developmental I Practice days: Monday-Friday, 5-6pm  This group is for swimmers who are beggining their first year on a team or who have swam in the past and have a BB cut time or slower. Please look at the 2009-2012 National Age Group Motivational Times listed on the Lake Erie swimming Website (www.lakeerieswimming.com) under time standards. All participants in this group must be comfortable in shallow and deep water while being able to complete a full length Freestyle (front crawl) and Backstroke (back crawl). The main focus for this group is building a strong foundation in our stroke developement while working on endurance and speed. All participants will learn the basics of competitive swimming, such as starts, turns, finishes, rules and etiquette of swimming. The goal of this group is to become proficient in all four strokes: Breaststroke, and Freestyle and to achieve a B, BB cut time or higher.

Developmental II to Advance Dryland 6-6:30pm  Practice 6:30-8pm  The Developmental II and Advanced practices are designed for more intense training. This group is for a swimmer who has achieved a BB cut time or higher and is proficient in all four strokes. All high school swimmers are required to be in this group. The swimmers will be placed in the appropriate lanes depending on their skill level. The Developmental II group will focus on stroke development, building endurance and racing strategies. The Advanced Group: Training will be more intense than the Developmental II group. Swimmers will continue building their endurance level while working stroke mechanics and speed.
