In cooperation with the Twinsburg City School District, two Twinsburg police officers are assigned as school resource officers or SROs, one at Twinsburg High School and one at R.B. Chamberlin Middle School during the academic year.  The officers are not school officials, but as their title suggests, these officers serve as a resource for each school and help to maintain an effective partnership between the police and the school district.  In addition to their traditional duties that include enforcing all laws on school grounds and investigating crimes, the officers provide educational programming in areas such as constitutional law, police procedure, substance abuse and peer mediation.  The officers are also available to answer questions individually for students, faculty, staff and parents.  They also work closely with the juvenile detective and the department's juvenile diversion program as well as Summit County Juvenile Court officials.
