OPERATIONS LIEUTENANT DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Lieutenant Robert Gonsiewski

· Management of the Patrol Division, Communications Center & Records Bureau personnel
· Supervision of four patrol sergeants and Terminal Agency Coordinator
· Management of the Patrol Division, Communication Center, and Records Bureau schedules and all associated scheduling issues
· Reviews all patrol reports for completeness and recommends any changes.
· Completes and submits all Patrol Division statistics to the Chief’s office
· Manages the field training program (FTO) for new officers and the communications training program (CTO) for new dispatchers
· Manages the evaluation process for employees assigned to the Patrol Division, Communications Center and Records Bureau
· Administers the bicycle unit, traffic unit and motorcycle unit
· Serves as the department liaison to Metro SWAT
· Serves as the department liaison to the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force
· Serves as the department liaison to the Summit County Crash Reconstruction Team
· Seeks “management by walking around” (MBWA) opportunities
· Budgets for items associated with the operation of Patrol Division, Communications Center and Records Bureau
· Other duties as designated by the Chief of Police
 


Administrative Lieutenant Duties

ADMINISTRATIVE LIEUTENANT DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

· Management of the Detective Bureau, School Officers and the Animal Control Division
· Supervision of the detective sergeant and animal warden
· Serves as the jail administrator
· Management of the property room and forfeiture program
· Manages facility/physical plant issues and building maintenance
· Manages capital improvement projects
· Management of the Detective Bureau schedule and Animal Warden schedule as well as all associated scheduling issues
· Manages the training function for all department personnel
· Management of the special detail and part-time job schedule
· Coordinates and facilitates training opportunities hosted by the Twinsburg Police Department
· Manages the hiring function for the police department
· Manages the evaluation process for the Detective Bureau, School Officers and Animal Warden
· Researches and writes grants for the Twinsburg Police Department
· Manages public speaking requests
· Manages the public information officer program
· Budgets for items associated with the operation of the Detective Bureau, Animal Control Division and training
· Fleet/vehicle management
· Serves as the department liaison to the Summit County Traffic Safety Council
· Serves as the department liaison to the Safe Kids’ Coalition
· Serves as the department liaison to the Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network (MAGLOCLEN)
· Other duties as designated by the Chief of Police
