The following course descriptions and schedules cover ALL swim lessons offered. Please note that as the levels progress, it is not unusual for a child to repeat a level several times. Remember that each child is unique and is evaluated on their swimming ability, not age. If you are not sure about what level to place your child into; please feel free to ask the Aquatic Manager and staff. Please observe all swimming lessons from the pool balcony. There will be no refunds or make-ups for missed classes. Non-Residents may register 2 weeks before the class begins. On line registration is now available.

The indoor pool at the TFC will be closed on August 1 at noon until Saturday, August 9 at 7am for yearly maintenance. Lap swimming only is available at the Outdoor Pool from 7-11am August 4-8. Also, the indoor pool at the TFC will be closed from 12:30-3:30pm on the following dates: June 25, July 9, 23, August 13, 20.

This program helps children between 6 mos. and 3 years of age become comfortable in and around the water  Parents will learn different support and holding techniques as well as how to help children learn and practice skills appropriate for their age.   Min:3/Max:10

I cannot put my face in the water, need support to float, and want to become more comfortable in the water. Age 3-5 years  Min:3/Max:6

I can put my face in the water with ease, can doggie paddle and am ready to learn front and back crawl.  Age 3-5 years   Min:3/Max:6

I passed preschool advanced, can swim front and back crawl 5 yards, and want to learn more strokes. Additionally, I am not afraid of the deep water.  Ages: 3-5 years    Min:3/Max:6

I need to learn to put my face in the water, help with floating, and want to be comfortable in the water. 

I passed Goldfish. I can float on my front and back with support. I am ready to learn front crawl & back crawl.

I can push off and swim, using a combination of arm and leg actions for 15 feet on my front and back. I am ready to learn to swim elementary backstroke, the butterfly kick and dive.

I can dive into deep water. I am comfortable swimming front crawl with rhythmic breathing (to front or side), and back crawl for 15 yards. I am ready to learn butterfly and breaststroke.

I am very comfortable in deep water. I can swim front crawl for 25 yards, back crawl for 25 yards, elementary backstroke for 15 yards, breaststroke for 15 yards, and tread water for 1 minute. I ready to learn flip turns and swim longer distances. 


 

If you are interested in learning how to swim or just brushing up on your skills, then this is the class for you. The skills learned in this class are based on your ability.

 

Lessons for those who need individual attention.  Students and instructor schedule 5, 1/2 hour sessions. There are no make-up lessons.  Late arrivals will be able to participate in the remainder of the scheduled time. Each set of lessons have a 3 month expiration date.
