As President of Twinsburg City Council and Twinsburg City Ward 2 Council Representative, people would say that I am committed to making Twinsburg the “community of choice” for families, as well as business organizations. My family and I are long-term residents of Twinsburg (29 years); I have been married to my wife Jackie since 1961, and have three children, as well as three grandchildren.I was born in Wilkinsburg, PA and raised in the small town of Turtle Creek, PA just outside of Pittsburgh. I am a graduate of Turtle Creek High School and later graduated from Hiram College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management.
After 40 years of a successful management career, I retired from the Taylor-Winfield Corporation (Brookfield, Ohio) in 2007 as the Manager of Procurement and Material Control. Prior to Taylor-Winfield, I worked for Figgie International for 14 years as the Manager of Purchasing for their Power System Group. I am currently working part-time for Taylor-Winfield consulting as a project manager.
In 2007 I was re-elected to my second four-year term to the Twinsburg City Council as the Ward 2 representative. In early 2008, I was elected to my current position as President of Twinsburg City Council. Over the years I have served as Chairman of the Finance Committee (4 years). I also served as an appointed member of the Twinsburg Capital Improvements Board prior to my service on council in 2003.
Throughout the years I have taken an active role in the community:
§ Served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Purchasing Managers
§ Volunteer Fireman and EMT
§ Past member of Jaycees
§ Explorer Advisor, as well as past Boy Scout myself
§ Coached boys baseball and girls softball
§ Active in Relay for Life
The dynamics affecting our community today have compelled me to take an active role in helping shape our community for present and future generations.
