The Board of Building & Zoning Appeals is established by City Charter Section 7.09.
SECTION 7.09 BOARD OF ZONING AND BUILDING CODE APPEALS.
There shall be a Board of Zoning and Building Code Appeals composed of five (5) electors, one (1) member from each of the five (5) wards, to be appointed by the Council. The appointments to the Board shall be for a term of three (3) years and shall be staggered as established heretofore. A vacancy occurring during the term of any member of the Board shall be filled for the unexpired term in the manner authorized in an original appointment. No member shall hold any other City office.
