By Order of the Twinsburg Civil Service Commission, a competitive examination to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer will be held:

A Physical Agility test will be given. The agility test will be based on current OPOTA physical fitness end of basic training benchmarks, (Latest edition)

Those who successfully complete the physical agility assessment will be permitted to take the written exam administered by Ramsey and Associates, on Sunday, September 13th at 1:00 PM at the Twinsburg Community Center, 10260 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087

To apply, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

•    High School Diploma or GED
•    Minimum of 21 years of age on the date of the examination
•    Valid Ohio Driver’s License and a good Driving History
•    No Felony, Domestic Violence or Sex Crime Convictions
•    No misdemeanor crimes within 1 year (excluding traffic)
•    Must meet medical and physical requirements of the Twinsburg Civil Service Commission and the Twinsburg Police Department

Applications must be submitted in person at the Twinsburg Government Center, 10075 Ravenna Road, from August 31st, 2020 to September 11th, 2020. (Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. NOTE: no applications will be taken on Labor day September 7th, 2020. If extenuating circumstances keep you from submitting documents or payment in person, please contact Sandy Panczyk (Civil Service Secretary) to discuss possible options.

Bring with you when you apply:

•    A copy of your Driver’s License Required
•    A copy of your high school diploma or transcript showing you graduated Required
•    $25- Cash (exact change) or money order made out to the City of Twinsburg Civil Service Commission
•    Proof of military service-DD214
•    Copy of college degree
•    Copy of OPOTA Peace Officer Certificate or OPOTA certification letter

No early or late entries will be accepted. The application fee is non-refundable. Applications will be limited to the first 100 received.

The following additional credit is available to those achieving a passing score of 70% on the written test:

•    10% Military Service credit
•    10% credit for a Bachelor’s degree
•    5% credit for an Associate’s degree
•    5% credit for OPOTA peace officer certification
•    5% credit for Part-Time employment with Twinsburg Police Department

Credits are limited to a maximum of 15%. In order to receive credit for Military, College degrees or OPOTC Peace Officer Certification, you must provide at the time of application, a DD214, a copy of your degree or OPOTC Peace Officer certificate or OPOTC Peace Officer certification letter.
